SDCTA Convenes Leaders to Analyze City of San Diego Inclusionary Housing Efforts

Taxpayers Association aims to bring more expert voices to the table as City leaders work to address San Diego’s housing affordability crisis

San Diego (October 30, 2018) -- In order to help address San Diego’s growing housing crisis, the San Diego County Taxpayers Association is convening a coalition to analyze the City of San Diego’s Inclusionary Housing Ordinance. Said SDCTA president and CEO Haney Hong:

"America's Finest City' is one of America’s least affordable cities, with one of the lowest rates of available units per capita. San Diego's housing crisis is a problem that deserves the full study, thoughts, and efforts of every possible expert. San Diego City Councilmember Georgette Gomez's call for an inclusionary housing working group is an excellent start to tackling this problem at a City policy level. The San Diego County Taxpayers Association is also bringing together thought leaders of our own to review this issue holistically and analyze any recommendations that come from Councilmember Gomez’s working group.

"We will review the recommendations put forth by Councilmember Gomez's working group and offer our perspective. We look forward to serving as a resource to Councilmember Gomez and her colleagues as they work toward a fiscally responsible solution that puts more San Diegans in homes they can afford."
