Statement from San Diego County Taxpayers Association Regarding Ballot Box Land Use Planning

“The San Diego County Taxpayers Association strongly opposes ballot box land use planning. It’s why we are No on SOS, and it’s why we support normal democratic processes, including the affirmation of the Board of Supervisors vote on Newland Sierra. The merits or dismerits of the project can’t be decided at the ballot box — you and I don’t have time for that. We expect our elected leaders and professional municipal staffs whose salaries we pay to sweat the details, and if citizens don’t like what electeds decide, then vote them out.”
