PROS Board Seeks Input on Street Outreach Measurement and Reporting
Working groups continue to develop further homelessness measurement and reporting standards
San Diego, CA (February 8, 2023) – Today the San Diego Taxpayers Educational Foundation’s Public Regional Outcomes Standards Board (PROS Board) exposed a new standard on measurement and reporting of street outreach practices in homelessness services. It is located at the PROS Board website at https://www.sdcta.org/prosboard-homelessness.
This exposure draft outlines new principles on the measurement and reporting of street outreach practices. The exposure draft is based upon the regionally-accepted idea that the goal of street outreach is to move clients experiencing homelessness toward housing-focused goals. The standard therefore asks service providers operating street outreach programs to report data points such as the number and proportion of their clients who entered into transitional housing, emergency shelters, and permanent housing (reported separately) during a reporting period. The standard is scoped to organizations operating street outreach programs within San Diego County.
The PROS Board will accept public comment on the Exposure Draft from February 8th through February 22nd. Public comment can be submitted through the electronic feedback form on the PROS Board website: https://www.sdcta.org/prosboard-homelessness, emailed to sdprosboard@sdcta.org, or mailed to “Research and Technical Director, Serial Reference No. 2023-ED-002, San Diego Public Regional Outcomes Standards Board, San Diego Taxpayers Educational Foundation, 2508 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego, CA 92106.” All comments received are part of the PROS Board’s public file and are available at www.sdcta.org/sdprosboard.
