SDCTA Raises Concerns Regarding Metropolitan Water District Integrated Resources Plan
The Metropolitan Water District (MWD) is considering the approval of its long term plan, known as the Integrated Resources Plan (IRP). SDCTA sent two letters to MWD voicing its concerns. As currently written, the IRP expands the role of MWD to include taking an active role in developing water supply projects at the local level. Should the MWD become involved in water supply development, water agencies throughout southern California will experience additional water rate increases.
